Yes floor tiles can go on the wall but wall tiles will generally not be strong enough to go on the floor.
Generally the answer is no as the UK climate does not allow tiles to be used outside. In the main tiles are not frost resistant and will often be slippery when wet.
Most tiles become more slippery when wet – particularly those with a shiny finish. Please ask at our outlets for tiles with specific properties.
Based on the overall dimensions of the surface to be covered our staff can calculate the number of tiles required. We recommend that slightly more tiles be bought to allow for cuts and unforeseen breakages.
Our tile ranges generally remain available for a number of years and we can order direct from the manufacturer. However, we can give no guarantees and should point out that there are shade variations from one batch to another. We would recommend that if possible your full requirement be bought at the same time.
If the tiles are in our central stock than delivery from the warehouse to the retail outlet is a matter of days. If we are out of stock and the tile is from one of our overseas suppliers shipment might typically be 4 weeks but may be 6 weeks. A tile from our third party UK suppliers might take a week or two.
Our outlet will ring you as soon as your tiles are in and available for collection.
Cut Price Tiles does not offer a tiling service. Our retail outlets may know and have contact information for tilers but Cut Price Tiles cannot accept any responsibility for the workmanship or otherwise of any tiler used.
Yes, we would be delighted for you to take tiles away to view. We do however ask for a small refundable deposit.
Yes we sell various grouts, adhesives, edging strips, spacers and virtually all you need for tiling.
Yes there are special purpose grouts. For areas such as showers you should use a water resistant grout. Likewise, if tiles are to be used on a work surface we recommend a non-absorbent grout.
Yes, we stock a wide range of natural stone tiles for walls and floors. Whilst stone does not have to be sealed we recommend that it is thus limiting staining and other marking. We carry sealants and examples of unsealed and sealed tiles.
We accept cash, cheque and most credit cards. Payment in full or a deposit is required on taking order.
